Armed Forces Lawyers are proud to support the Armed Forces Covenant, and its business variety, the Corporate Covenant.
The armed forces covenant sets out the relationship between the nation, the government and the armed forces. It recognises that the whole nation has a moral obligation to members of the armed forces and their families, and it establishes how they should expect to be treated.
“When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today” – memorial at Camp Bastion
As lawyers – working within a framework of the Rule of Law – we recognise the danger our armed forces personnel must face to preserve and secure our basic rights in other parts of the World. As members of society we owe a debt of which the Covenant represents the repayment.
The Corporate Covenant is a public pledge from businesses and other organisations who wish to demonstrate their support for the armed forces community.
We show our support for the Armed Forces in the following ways:
- Offering discounts on the fees for our services to members of HM Armed Forces and their families (including the families of veterans, both surviving and fallen)
- Positively encouraging employment opportunities for ex-service personnel. We employ several resettled members of HM Armed Forces, and work with numerous more
- Raising money for Forces charities and publicising their causes
- Providing the best quality legal service we can, in a manner sympathetic to members of the armed forces, both in terms of realism of advice offered, and practicality for service personnel who may need to deal with things in a different way.
